The Bemer is definitely the most popular of all PEMF mats. They have a tremendous sales force, an aesthetically pleasing device and great marketing. For reasons like these, many people have overlooked the shortcomings of the product itself. We decided to mention this mat because it has become very popular in the past couple of years. This machine is an infrared heating mat with a unknown PEMF waveform and signal. However, we have found significant levels of EMF coming from it. The marketing and low price of this machine seem to be how it has amassed the great majority of it’s popularity, we definitely give it credit for that. But other than that, it appears but be of very low quality and is also putting users at risk of EMF damage. It seems to be marketed at younger customers quite heavily but I would strongly advise them to protect their cells with something of higher grade and no emf.

iMRS Pro
Most customizable
The iMRS Pro is another PEMF machine, who like Bemer, had previously marketed the QRS 101 in the mid 1990s. The iMRS however, is a bit closer to have successfully duplicated the original QRS e function signal and even uses a sawtooth wave as well (QRS uses a double sawtooth wave). In addition to this, they have made some interesting additions, such as a Heart Rate Variability monitor, an Integrated Sound-Light Relaxation System and a multitude of preset modes. They use a few more frequencies than the Bemer, have thicker copper coils than Bemer and many others and also offer headphones, goggles and a pen probe like the QRS.
We believe this is definitely one of the better machines out there.

Most Gauss
The BioBalance PEMF machine was designed to be a less expensive option. However, they have managed to include a fairly large range of frequencies (.5-1000hz), second only to QRS on the list and have also added some gauss for the people that want more intensity. They have 6 modes that help you cycle navigate the frequencies as well. On paper, it looks like a pretty good machine. The very limited machine and accessory warranty makes us think the quality of the Biobalance is lower. Also, they are using a basic sinusoidal wave and make no mention of what signal they are actually working with. Usually, when a company fails to even mention it, it is because the signal is very basic and repetitive like any common PEMF machine.

What is PEMF?
Plainly put, Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field sessions deliver a pulsed field that surrounds the body in healing energy. Some have described it as “a battery recharger for the human cell” or “magnetically induced cellular exercise”.
What is a PEMF session like?
All that is required of the patient is to simply lie on a mat or sit with a device placed on the treatment site. Since no physical activity is involved for the patient, most folks feel relaxed during the process.
Will I feel any pain during the treatment?
NO. The magnetic-pulses can be adjusted to you individually so they do not hurt. However, you may feel a warming or tingling sensation.

How is a pulsed electromagnetic field different than a magnet?
A static magnet is limited to a constant magnetic field whereas pulsed electromagnetic fields involve frequencies thus creating much more profound actions in the body. Pulsed electromagnetic fields are produced when an electrical current passes through a frequency generator. A property of physics is that where there is an electrical current, there is an ensuing magnetic field. The frequencies then ride on the magnetic field, which then pass to the body.
The most important element of pulsed electromagnetic fields is that they are based on specific generated frequencies that resonate with the same cellular frequencies in the body. For example, this resonance affects the red blood cell membrane with release of nitric oxide, NO, among many other actions that cause blood vessel dilatation.
